On September 1, 2025, at the SCO summit in Tianjin, a declaration on green industrial cooperation was adopted, enshrined in the Tianjin Declaration. Member countries committed to expanding cooperation in green industry, including efficient waste management, rational use of resources, reduction of carbon emissions, and development of clean energy. Simultaneously, the "Roadmap for Implementation of the SCO Energy Cooperation Strategy until 2030" was approved, focusing on the development of renewable energy sources. A declaration on sustainable energy development was also adopted, providing for support of the global energy market without discrimination and promotion of renewable energy research. A high-level SCO-Arab League conference on climate change and sustainable energy is planned for October 3, 2025, in Astana.
